Tuesday in Alabama

Hey everyone,
Today marks our second full day down south and so far it’s been wonderful. Yesterday we met with Reverend Billy Kyles which was a great experience. He truly gave us all an inside view on civil right and what Dr. Martin Luther King did during this movement. If you get the chance I highly recommend checking out the film Room 306, which is an account of the final days and hours of Dr. King’s life.

Today we started our day at the state capital which was a great experience as well. Some of us toured the building while others listened to to governor’s press conference. Now we’re on our way to Selma, AL to meet with Joanne Bland for lunch, tours and dinner before we drive to Birmingham later tonight.

Thanks for all your comments. And stay tuned,
