March 20, 2011

Today went well.

The bus ride was mostly uneventful. All the usual things that happen during long rides went on; sleeping, homework, movies, talking, music, pit stops, etc. There was one not so ordinary event, though. One of the bus’ tires popped in Hayti, MO. This set us back by an hour or so, but we weren’t too far away from Memphis, and we didn’t have any major plans for the evening. I’d say for a 12/13 hour drive, that was a very minor incident.

Currently people are settling in/swimming to stretch from the long ride. Personally, I’m doing some homework.

Tomorrow’s main events are The National Civil Rights Museum, and speaking to Rev. Billy Kyles. Then we pack up and head to Montgomery. Hopefully I can get some pictures to spice this thing up! πŸ™‚

    Hey Christine!
My sister-in-law, Heather Wade, is traveling with you, and I’m glad everyone is safe! When I road tripped it to Louisiana one year, we got a flat tire in Mississippi. It must be a common happening πŸ™‚ Looking forward to reading all the other upcoming blogs!

Britney was nice talking to you on the evening of March 21st. Glad to hear that you made it safe and sound to Alabama. And that you are having a great time. Did you find Elvis for Grandma yet?????? Send some of that nice warm 73 degree weather home to us. Its was 43 today in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Suppose to snow the next few days. Yuck. Enjoy the rest of the trip and we will keep watching the blog.

Can’t wait to see some pictures of the group posted.

Gotta love the bus rides πŸ™‚ It’s always so unpredictable though on the way back too… you could be super energized from the whole experienced, or oober tired! Good to know you made it there safely.
